An early Kelsey Street Press member, Frances Phillips is longtime member of the Kelsey Street board. In addition to The Celebrated Running Horse Messenger, Frances has published For a Living (Hanging Loose Press, 1981) and Up at Two (Hanging Loose Press, 1991).
Professionally, Frances is Program Director at the Walter and Elise Haas Foundation, and perviously served as Executive Director of Intersection for the Arts and Director of the Poetry Center and American Poetry Archives at San Francisco State University.
